Short Bio

Rejecting the imperial way of life, the manic self-optimisation craze of an entire generation, the higher-further-better-mentality, while sounding immeasurably ecstatic because giving up is not an option – the Reeperbahnfestival Act 2022 “HÆCTOR” pulls off this balancing act in each of their songs and give the urban existence of our times a soundtrack full of devotion, full of confidence and thoughtfulness.

Between indie riffs and synthetic pop, atmospheric keyboard pads and stormy vocals, the debut album “Modern Urban Angst” released in 2022 shows how socially critical and at the same time life-affirming contemporary pop music can be. The quartet from Hamburg instantly found their home in a style that on the one hand sounds so huge and sweeping that it could easily rock a stadium. On the other hand, their music crackles with a cathartic energy that is best released at rancid little indie joints – which it regularly is. In May 2023, the band fulfilled a dream with a slot at “The Great Escape Festival” in Brighton (UK) and is now making big plans together with the successful producer Henrik Menzel.
